本文的主要研究內容有：對各種不同的組播模型、組播路由協議進行了研究與比較；分析了當前internet的組播體系結構及其存在的問題，指出ssm組播服務模型是一種實現簡單、可擴展性強、易於進行訪問控制的新型組播服務模型；研究了網路模擬軟體ns - 2的組成與內部架構，及如何利用它進行網路協議的分析與研究，並著重研究了其內部組播模擬機制，在此基礎上擴展實現了ssm組播服務模型，並對ssm實現機制進行了分析，利用所實現的ssm組播模型進行了模擬實驗，論證了ssm組播模型的簡單與高效性，為對ssm組播模型的進一步研究奠定了一定的基礎，並對ssm的實際應用有一定的參考價值。
