在籌備與資料搜集的過程中，我們發覺收獲相當豐富，因此決定為此而出版一本專書，在訪問紀錄與資料整理之外再邀請一些有關的電影工作者評論人撰寫文章，合成一本研究徐克的專書，並特約何思穎先生總其成，主理編輯事宜，以及何慧玲王少芳小姐協助編務，遂有劍嘯江湖徐克與香港電影一書的出版。
