在3種密度下對綿農4號、綿農3號的分蘗及成穗特性進行了初步研究，結果表明：綿農4號、綿農3號的分蘗速度和分蘗力皆為中等，中等密度條件下，有效分蘗期每天可形成0 . 15蘗，各期總蘗數為3 . 7左右，低於綿陽11號；與綿陽11號分蘗速度的差異主要在有效分蘗期；綿農4號、綿農3號的成穗率為55 %左右，低於綿陽11號；但分蘗和主穗的差異較小，分蘗穗重佔主穗重的80 %左右，莖蘗穗重變異系數15 %左右，穗子大小均勻一致，小穗相對較少，小穗較大，這些性狀都優于綿陽11號。
