本文從絕緣結構的故障機理入手，以絕緣結構故障的典型特徵? ?局部放電為研究對象，重點討論局部放電的在線監測方法、適用場合併比較它們的優缺點；在分析籠型異步電機轉子斷條在線監測的定子電流監測方法后，根據其缺陷，本文探討了溫升不平衡法、希爾伯特變換數字濾波、小波包分析法的原理及優點；以電機軸承、氣隙偏心等故障為研究對象，通過對電機振動和轉速頻率的檢測，診斷電機的故障類型；本文的重點工作是將人工智慧技術中的模糊技術應用於電機的狀態監測和故障診斷中，力求使電機故障診斷更接近人工智慧化；最後，本文對電機狀態監測和故障診斷系統進行了硬體和軟體初步設計，為實現預測維修提供了有效的技術手段。
