本文在分析和總結國內外關于旋轉電機過電壓分析方法及其研究現狀的基礎上，首次提出了基於場路結合的廠站操作過電壓安全預測理論和分析方法。本文研究了大型電站中的操作過電壓沖擊波在發電機定子繞組絕緣介質中暫態電場的實時分佈狀態，在線分析發電機的絕緣工作狀況，搜索發電機內部可能突發絕緣事故的區域，預測發電機內部可能發生絕緣事故的故障點，並重點研究了大型發電機絕緣安全在線預測分析方法和建立了大型發電機絕緣安全評估模型。
