本論文所研究的橋梁維修加固計算機系統主要針對橋梁管理部門在橋梁養護維修決策時往往根據對橋梁狀況的定性了解和工程師的經驗來進行的，缺少科學的指導思想、系統的檢測評價方法的弊病，建立了完善的橋梁技術數據庫和合理的橋梁評價子系統，收集了目前橋梁典型的病害形式及其產生的機理，並在專門領域內獲取專家知識，運用專家知識去模擬專家行為，提出適當的維修加固方案。
