    本章首先從理論上分析了modem功能及與計算機的通信原理；其次利用v86 . 0的通信控制項mscomm開發串列程序，由於mapbasic是mapinfo二次開發工具，是一種編制地圖信息應用程序的編程語言，不能直接讀取串列通訊埠數據，它必基於gsm網和pstn網的移動終端和遠程主機的實時數據通信系統的技術研究須藉助外部程序來完成與modem的串列通訊；最後利用ode技術來實現maplnfo與vb串列通信程序實時定位數據傳輸。
