In this paper, in view of the poor water exchange condition and deteoriorated ecological environment in the two bays, a strategic scheme to excavate an artificial jiaolai canal is proposed, the excavation of artificial canal will link up the jiaozhou bay and laizhou bay so as to speed up the water circulation in the two bays and improve the ecological environment in the yellow sea and bohai sea inshore areas, and the canal project will be advantageous to the shipping industry, tourism, ecological conservation and economic development
