本論文系統論述了有限單元法和板的屈曲穩定理論，並在這些理論的指導下，以ug軟體和msc nastran軟體為工具，對存在一定幾何缺陷的典型箱形構件進行靜強度和屈曲的綜合分析，分別得出了不同缺陷度的構件的極限載荷，從而得到缺陷度與極限載荷的變化曲線，給出了缺陷度的最大許用值；同時，本論文還針對不同缺陷度構件的破壞形式不同這一問題進行了詳盡的論述。
