  1. The peace of the chitta ( or mind stuff ) can be brought about through the practice of sympathy, tenderness, steadiness of purpose, and dispassion in regard to pleasure or pain, or towards all forms of good or evil

  5. It is the product ' s personality that can appeal to the four functions of a person ' s mind ( manas, chitta, ahamkara, and buddhi ), for people tend to make judgments about companies or brands in personality terms

  6. Peace ( steadiness of the chitta ) can be reached through meditation on the knowledge which dreams give

  8. This union ( or yoga ) is achieved through the subjugation of the psychic nature, and the restraint of the chitta ( or mind )

  9. Thus those who indulge and use their attention chitta on such " siddhis " and those who run after such gross miracles find it difficult to follow sahaja yoga

  10. A further stage of samadhi is achieved when, through one pointed thought, the outer activity is quieted. in this stage, the chitta is responsive only to subjective impressions

    令冥想進一步達至三摩地的境界,則從此至彼而使外在靜止,在這個階段意識僅是主觀的啟蒙態。
  11. When the chitta becomes absorbed in that which is the reality ( or idea embodied in the form ), and is unaware of separateness or the personal self, this is contemplation or samadhi

    當心神依專注而得見真實(知覺體現于形態中)而無有分別和自我意識,這就是靜慮或叫三摩地。
  12. If knowledge of the mind ( chitta ) by a remoter mind is postulated, an infinite number of knowers must be inferred, and the sequence of memory reactions would tend to infinite confusion

    假如識見由另一識見而所知,則無限的知見必得以推演,經此邏輯趨向于無窮的思維混亂。
