本講座的主要目的是為質量管理工作的實施提供一些基礎知識，內容包括： （ 1 ）質量的定義和重要性； （ 2 ）質量管理的組織； （ 3 ）持續改善的過程和工具，包括pdca和統計過程式控制制工具； （ 4 ）抽樣檢驗，包括隨機取樣、接收曲線和賣方、買方風險； （ 5 ）產品設計工具，包括質量功能展開（質量屋）和田口方法的概念； （ 6 ）質量管理的國際標準，馬爾科姆.鮑德里奇獎和戴明獎。 -
