In this paper, some aspects of vacuum preloading were studied as follows. vacuum consolidation test and load consolidation test were performed and compared for different kind of soil samples. after analyzing the results of tests, the four major mechanisms of vacuum consolidation were defined as : variation of capillary potential, drainage of sealed bubbles, vaporization and action of atmosphere pressure, in which, the action of atmosphere pressure is the most important factor

    首先對不同土樣進行了一系列室內真空固結和加載固結的對比試驗，通過對試驗結果的比較分析，明確了抽真空引起土樣固結的原因，即抽真空作用會在四個方面對試樣產生影響：毛細管勢的改變、封閉氣泡的排出、汽化現象及大氣壓的作用，而其中大氣壓的作用是最主要的。
