此外，本文利用doe2in軟體對杭州地區居住建築外窗的能耗進行模擬計算，分別詳細計算了在東、西、南、北四個朝向下，不同窗墻面積比、不同窗框材料或玻璃的使用下，以及採用不同遮陽措施時的建築全年耗能情況，並對上述影響外窗能耗的因素進行分析比較，從中得出在我國夏熱冬冷地區居住建築外窗節能設計的一些結論，可供建築設計及有關人員參考。
