提出了適用於具有線性參數的一般結構的逆特徵值問題的設計方法，即以系統的全部或部分的彈性元件與慣性元件的系數為設計參數，對于預先給定的若干階固有頻率及相應振型，通過求解一線性方程組即可確定全部實際可行的設計變量，從而構造出實際結構的剛度矩陣和質量矩陣，並論證了解的存在性與唯一性。
