我們選擇青島百合作為範例開展植物復合種群的研究，在長期全面調查的基礎上，選擇典型分佈區域設立了研究樣帶，確定了青島百合復合種群的六個局部種群，並圍繞個體生長階段進行了長期的跟蹤調查，應用gps對每株植物的空間位置進行了定位，測定了植株的高度，估測了植株的年齡等，在此基礎上將取得的調查資料與地理信息系統（ gis ）分析工具相結合，對青島百合復合種群進行了較為全面的研究。
