中國科學院暨香港中文大學地球信息科學聯合實驗室，獲中國科協與國家科技部委託，將於一九九九年十一月二十二至二十五日在香港會議展覽中心舉辦第二十屆亞洲遙感大會與亞洲遙感協會成立二十周年慶典活動。這是香港地區首次舉辦亞洲遙感協會的大型國際會議，屆時亞洲遙感學界精英雲集，有助推動香港的遙感高科技和教育發展。
