作為旅遊產業核心要素的旅遊景區，現階段卻是我國旅遊產業發展中的薄弱環節。長期以來，由於旅遊景區體制復雜、政出多門的管理格局，加之普遍存在的區位制約、基礎設施薄弱、資金投入不足和人才匱乏的問題，使得我國旅遊景區的專業化經營水平低，市場經濟適應性差，可持續發展后勁不足，難以適應社會主義市場經濟體制改革和旅遊產業發展的趨勢，難以滿足地方經濟社會發展的要求和人們日益增長的物質文化生活需求。 -

從居民態度的角度來分析傳統村鎮旅遊地發展對當地社區所造成的社會、經濟、環境影響並探討相應的開發策略，有助於進一步充實旅遊地理學、旅遊社會學的內容，促進傳統村鎮的有效保護，正確處理擁有眾多珍貴歷史文化遺產的傳統村鎮進行旅遊開發和保護之間的關系，同時豐富國內關于旅遊地居民對旅遊影響感知和態度的研究案例，為制定旅遊業發展規劃及建立和完善旅遊地社區參與機制、實現旅遊可持續發展提供理論依據，具有較強的實踐意義和理論價值。
