本文首先分析了數字城市三維可視化所面臨的問題和發展現狀，總結了當前3dgis ，特別是3d空間數據模型的特點和功能，在此基礎上，把數字城市中幾何目標分類為：點、線、面、體四種類別，採用了三維矢量數據模型建立三維城市模型，而且本文著重探討了城市建築物的三維重建以及三維交互。
