Michael met two nice taiwanese ladies - dorothy sammy, who were interested in the german bakery profession, and promptly checked on the idea first hand during a visit to germany, which led to the decision to open a german bakery with michaels as a partner in taipei. after 5 years of operation, wendels bakery bistro just moved to new premises and opened a bistro with a nice beer - garden to forward some of wendels family tradition to the people of taiwan
五年之後，在客人們的支持與鼓勵下迅速成長茁壯，生意常常好到沒有位置可以坐，小小的咖啡廳已不敷使用，最後他們決定再找個好地方擴建， 2004年wendel s bakery bistro在數月的辛苦整理下搬到了德行西路5號，繼續為所有客人們服務。
