    本文運用管理學、秘書學、高校管理學等學科的基本原理,理論與實際緊密結合,闡述了高校秘書隊伍在高校管理中的作用,揭示並分析了目前高校秘書隊伍的現狀,進而對如何建設好高校秘書隊伍提出了合理可行的對策。本文結合實際,將高校秘書工作分為兩大類:日常程序化工作、 (包括十項具體工作)和非程序化工作;闡述了高校秘書隊伍在高校管理中的五大作用:輔助決策的參謀作用、辦理事務的助手作用、傳遞信息的耳目作用、溝通聯結的樞紐作用、領導機關的示範作用。本文結合多年來從事高校秘書工作的實踐,將現狀概括為三大矛盾:一多一少的矛盾,即學歷層次較高與專業知識教育培訓的比例偏低的矛盾;一強一弱的矛盾,即個人的上進心較強與隊伍合力較弱的矛盾;一多一少的矛盾,即付出較多與回報較少的矛盾。
