這時，我只好用槳作錨，把木排一邊固定在一片靠近河岸的平坦的沙灘上，以等待潮水漲高，漫過沙灘再說。后來，潮水果然繼續上漲，漫上沙灘，等水漲得夠高了，我就把木排撐過去，因為木排吃水有一尺多深。到了那兒，我用兩支斷槳插入沙灘里，前後各一支，把木排停泊好，單等潮水退去，就可把木排和貨物品平安安地留在岸上了。
