同時，由於全懸掛空心軸、半懸掛抱軸承等復雜結構車軸的使用和整體碾鋼輪陸續替代輪箍組裝式車輪，各型機車輪軸結構不同，車軸加工臺階和過渡圓角不同，從動牽引齒輪與車軸採用過盈裝配等，在這些結構復雜且疲勞裂紋產生集中的區域，探傷時極易發生波形交織和重復，難以識別真正缺陷波。
