首先針對全國典型重載交通道路的情況，特別是對焦作地區的重載道路現狀以及由於重載交通引起的路面破壞現象、原因進行了細致的調查和較為系統的研究分析，並利用hds - 2移動式軸載儀，對現有道路的實際超載情況進行了實測，在此基礎上對重載和瀝青路面，進行了半剛性材料的非線性實驗以及瀝青路面重載車轍試驗。
