Abstract : in this paper, the feature of time - bifurcation for plate - beam stability is studied by mechanics model of plate - beam structure of rock in compression. the instability time of plate - beam is dependent on the rock material feature. delay bulking occurs under some load. the formula of time - bifurcation is given. the mechanisms of roadway floor heave and delay rockburst are preliminarity discussed
