In inner mongolia, 322 ewenki ( 147 male and 175 female ) and 100 oroqen ( 40 male and 60 female ) students are investigated on 5 types of tongue ? s movement ( rolling, folding, twisting, pointed and clover - leaf tongues ). the results showed as follows : ( 1 ) ewenki shows significant or very significant difference in most of frequencies of the 5 types except folding tongue from oroqen, daur han and mongol in inner mongolia. oroqen has significant difference from daur in the frequency of clover - leaf tongue, but not in the other 4 types. compared with han, mongol and hui in inner mongolia, oroqen is significantly different in most of ferquencies of twisting. ( 2 ) only the frequency of pointed tongue showed very significant difference between ewenki and oroqen.
