This paper attempts to discuss the relation between the paintings of chagall and the theology of eliade in order to participate a dialogue between an artist and a theologian and to search for divine meaning in the secularized world, thus rediscovering the religious significance in chagall as well as in the whole modem western art
摘要本文試圖通過對夏加爾繪畫和伊里亞德神學之間關系的探討，參與在20世紀一位藝術家和一位宗教史學家之間曾經展開的對話，到一個世俗化的世界中去尋找神聖的意義，並進而發現夏加爾藝術和整個現代西方藝術中存在的宗教意味。
