本處除于落馬洲管制站為過境旅客、私家車及旅遊巴士提供二十四小時的出入境檢查服務外，亦實施了過境貨車分流計劃，領有文錦渡或沙頭角管制站封閉道路通行許可證的貨車（載運蔬菜、肉類、禽畜的貨車除外） ，在該兩個管制站的服務時間過后（文錦渡為晚上十時至翌日早上七時，沙頭角則為晚上八時至翌日早上七時） ，可使用落馬洲管制站辦理出入境手續。
