首先，針對非時滯不確定系統和具有狀態時滯的不確定系統，採用全階濾波器構造殘差產生系統，利用h控制理論將這兩類系統的故障檢測與分離問題轉化為h濾波問題，採用線性矩陣不等式技術將魯棒故障檢測濾波器的設計轉化為具有線性矩陣不等式約束的凸優化問題，可利用標準的數學軟體求取。
