本文以國內外公路橋梁安全審查現狀分析為基礎，結合湖北省公路橋梁規劃建設與運營狀況，對公路橋梁安全審查的原理和方法進行了探討，重點分析了橋梁平縱橫技術指標組合構成的幾何線形、行車道寬度及橫向布置、安全設施、環境及其他相關因素等與交通安全的關系，提出了公路橋梁安全審查的原則、內容及程序，並分別對規劃、設計、施工及運營中的橋梁安全審查進行了具體應用。
