本文通過大量的現場調查和資料收集，提出了甘肅省黃土工程地層劃分方案和野外判定標準；首次提出了甘肅省黃土自然邊坡的不同地質結構模型；統計和分析了甘肅省黃土的土性參數；運用極限平衡法和有限元法對黃土路塹高邊坡穩定性進行了分析；推薦了甘肅省不同黃土地區路塹高邊坡的斷面形式，並結合穩定性、經濟性和抗沖刷性能，應用灰色系統理論對其進行評價；最後，提出了黃土路塹高邊坡合理斷面設計方法和設計步驟。
