在此基礎上給出了考慮測試剖面與運行剖面差別的幾種運行階段失效率的形式，然後根據失效率遞減的和先增后減的變化趨勢，從理論上分析了測試可靠性與運行可靠性的差別，研究這兩種可靠度對軟體發布時間的影響。絕大多數軟體可靠性增長模型都假設軟體故障服從同一種分佈。
