無疑，片中某些情節的確能以輕松幽默的手法真切地捕捉到兩地文化的差異，並炮製出不少無傷大雅的笑料，令人看得開心之餘，亦產生一定的共鳴感，但可惜的是，編導的發揮就正正只局限於這些零碎的處境式笑料之內，而不能對整個主題加以整頓提升，反而在中段以後漸漸失控，劇情愈演愈亂，到了最後電視臺表演一場更無法收拾殘局，令結局淪為歡樂今宵式的鬧劇。Therefore, it is necessary for people from different areas to respect and understand each others culture in order to promote their conexistence, and that is what this movie is attempting to do. however, i wouldn t call it a success in this regard. without doubt some of the gags are funny and ko s observation of the cultural barrier between the people from the north and the south is also incisive, but other than generating some laughters here and there, these funny moments just don t seem to work coherently and make you think deeper about the subject matter
