    為了研究季節凍土區工業民用建築的基礎淺埋穩定性問題,特開展了有關季節凍土的融化壓縮特性的研究,先後在內蒙古農業大學三個比較典型的建築地點取了將近三百個試樣,在室內進行試驗,採取兩種試驗方法即先融化后壓縮試驗法和同時融化壓縮試驗法,通過對這三個不同地點的兩種不同的試驗方法的試驗結果進行對比分行,分別繪制了融系數與凍土的含水(冰)量、干容重以及顆配的關系曲線;融化壓縮系數與凍土的含水(冰)量、干容重以及顆配的關系曲線,由試驗結果發現凍土的融系數和融化壓縮系數都與凍土的含水量呈正向相關關系,可近似的用線性方程來表示;兩種實驗方法的總量與凍土的含水量呈正向相關關系,與凍土的干容重呈反向相關關系,也可以近似的用線性方程來表示。

    公路沿線廣泛分佈有昔格達地層,昔格達地層能否用作高速公路路基填料,國內沒有先例,本論文就是結合導師的科研項目,在非典期間,現場長達5個月的工作,完成了從試驗、現場施工工藝到路堤分層監測等工作,是面對生產實際,認識昔格達地層的性質和其作為地基、路基和填料應用中面臨的問題進行的研究。主要的研究內容有:對攀西地區地層巖性、構造等地質環境和昔格達地層的積歷史過程作了系統的分析,研究表明西攀高速公路主要受安寧河斷裂和昔格達斷裂影響,通過地區地震活動頻繁,差異較大,對公路建設、安全運行和沿線構築物設計有較大影響;由於昔格達地層在有些路段作為地基、有些作為路基,對其基本性質進行了研究:包括天然密度、含水量、塑液限、顆配等指標的試驗研究。研究成果表明:昔格達地層為湖相積,主要為砂巖和泥巖,它以細組為主,同時粘的存在,使其具有一定粘性。
