Abstract : for high arch dams in valleys with the characteristics of high water head, large discharge and large power, the problems of energy dissipation and scour prevention are serious. based on scientific studies, new comprehensive measures are proposed, including dispersion of discharge to waken wallop of the current, and reinforcement of riverbed to enhance the erosion - resistance. the measures can be used to solve the problem of energy dissipation properly. a typical layout scheme has been proposed in which slotted bucket with diversion teeth, double deck with pores, and cushion pool are considered practice has proved that the scheme is reliable and the effect of energy dissipation is obvious
