傳統冷卻系統的風扇和水泵皆由發動機直接控制，固定的控制模式限制了發動機在不同工況下的適應性，尤其是在惡劣的工況下冷卻系統過熱導致的發動機異常；為改變這種狀況，冷卻風扇的電動控制已經進行了前期研究，而且取得了良好的效果，在此基礎上，本文又對冷卻水泵智能控制的研究進行了詳細地闡述。
