染色體核型研究結果表明；青海湖裸鯉染色體總數2n = 92條，由18條中著絲粒染色體、 18條近中著絲粒染色體、 16條近端著絲粒染色體和40條端著絲粒染色體組成，其核型式為： 18m + 18sm + 16st + 40t ， nf = 128 。
