盡管我做出來的這只煙斗又粗劣又難看，並且燒得和別的陶器一樣紅，可是卻堅實耐用，煙管也抽得通。這對於我是個莫大的安慰，因為我有的是煙葉。當時，船上雖然也有幾只煙斗，但我起初忘了帶下來，不知道島上也長有煙葉后來再到船上去找，卻一隻也找不到了。
