攀鋼公司為了改善產品結構、增強市場竟爭能力和提高經濟效益，淘汰落後模鑄系統，決定擴大連鑄比並淘汰模鑄，新建一臺六流方坯連鑄機、一臺rh真空處理精煉裝置、一座lf爐。這臺新建rh真空處理裝置年處理鋼水100萬噸，主要滿足軌梁廠生產優質高速重軌和型鋼的要求。作者作為該項目的三電部分主要參與人。
