本文首先介紹研究的背景和理論基礎，對xml 、 cscw技術和web的半結構化數據特點做了簡單介紹；接著對數據庫協同工作中的關鍵技術： xml與關系數據庫之間的相互轉換進行了深入的研究，闡述了轉換過程中的原理、思想精髓等重點問題，提出了通用的轉換規則，以及在web數據庫中數據的提取、集成、轉換等實現技術；同時還介紹了在java環境下數據綁定的過程，並提出一個協同數據庫管理系統的模型datachange 。
