為了解決玉米矮花葉病害的防治問題，採用花粉介導法及基因槍法將pap基因分別導入玉米的雜交種及自交系，獲得了10株轉基因玉米， pcr及southern - blot檢測結果表明pap基因已經整合到了玉米基因組中，並且其中有一株pap基因已經得到了表達，病毒抗性鑒定表明轉基因玉米能明顯推遲玉米矮花葉病害癥狀的表現。
