本文針對不同的舌象，確定了不同的舌病理區域，提出了相應的舌子圖像選取方法，明確了紋理特徵的研究對象;針對不同的舌象，比較了多種紋理特徵提取方法，確立了每種舌象的最佳紋理特徵，較準確的分類了各類舌象，為證候和疾病的自動化診斷做好了準備;建立了基於紋理特徵的證候診斷模型，應用該模型，較準確的診斷了虛實證候和表裡證候;此外，基於專家知識，本文融合了舌圖像的紋理、顏色和形狀信息對部分疾病的自動診斷進行了研究並取得了較好的結果。
