Each and every thing which is proposed definitively by the magisterium of the chu rch concerning the doctrine of faith and morals, that is, each and every thing which is required to safeguard reverently and to expound faithfully the same deposit of faith, is also to be firmly embraced and retained ; therefore, one who refuses those propositions which are to be held definitively is opposed to the doctrine of the catholic church
2項凡是教會訓導決定性地提出的有關信仰與倫理的教義，就要堅定地擁護和保存，也就是說，所有有關同樣的信仰寶庫都要求虔敬地捍衛與忠信地解釋；因此，誰拒絕那些決定性地堅持的主張就是反對天主教的教義。
