經濟部技術處指出， sbir計畫自88年2月份開始推動，截至95年3月底為止，國內中小企業共提出了2 ， 914件研究計畫申請補助。 -

Sbir計畫為鼓勵及提升國內研發實力，除補助研發人力之人事費材料費設備使用及設備維護費外，更補助委外研究及技術引進費用，鼓勵自國外引進先進技術，以厚植研發實力。
