In summary, we constructed and characterized a bac library of silky, a unique chinese native breed of chicken. the library has high genome coverage ( 13 - fold ), chimerism ( 6 % ) and overlapped bacs, which made it a valuable resource to complete chicken physical map, study functional genes and construct bac contigs. we analyzed the whole genomic sequence and snps of tyrp1 and found that silky tyrp1 is different with other breeds both in microsatellite and transcription regulation site
