本文通過對鄂爾多斯盆地西北部沉積巖沉積結構、沉積構造、垂向序列及測井響應的深入研究，識別出沖積扇、河流、扇三角洲、辮狀河三角洲、曲流河三角洲、湖泊、障壁海岸及碳酸鹽臺地等8種沉積相類型。在此基礎上，對每一種沉積相又進行了詳細的沉積亞相和微相的劃分。
