瘦尾胸刺水蚤（ centropagestenuiremisthompsen & seott ， 1903 ）是廈門海區冬春季節的主要優勢種，其生活史中一個顯著的特點就是在種群數量逐漸減少的5 6月間，雌體會產出表面遍布長刺的滯育卵，以滯育形式度過不利其生長繁殖的夏秋季（ 7 11月） 。
