本文以各不同時期考古出土的青銅鏃為研究對象，對青銅鏃的形製做類型學的分析，並進行了分期研究，通過對青銅鏃分佈區域的研究，解析不同區域青銅鏃的文化因素構成，最後將研究結果匯總，建立起青銅鏃的編年序列，比較深入地探討了青銅鏃在形制上的演進與其在軍事上的意義，考證了青銅鏃不同的形制所具備的不同功能，並對先秦時期箭在軍隊使用弓箭的兵種與非實戰用的禮射與弋射用箭的情況進行分析探討。
