積雲的體積可大可小，而形狀更是變化萬千，雲底多為平坦，頂部呈塔狀，受到太陽直射的部份，顯得十分明亮，其他部份則較暗淡，天朗氣清的時候，在藍天的襯托下，積雲尤如一朵朵雪白的棉花懸浮在空中，形成很美麗的構圖。
