首先根據電磁鐵的非線性特性和梁的抗彎曲力的線性特性，設計出磁力驅動懸臂梁式光開關結構，然後根據提出的結構，從理論上對懸臂梁的參數進行模擬分析選出合適的懸臂梁參數，緊接著分析平面鏡的厚度、表面粗糙度、垂直度對光開關性能的影響；最後對磁路系統，明確選擇具有矩形磁滯回線的材料，設計出電磁鐵的結構。
