另外，慣性穩定性的作用以往不受重視，本文通過對西南低空急流左前方和高空偏北大風軸右後方的慣性穩定性和對稱穩定性的理論分析和實例計算，表明慣性穩定性在伴有高低空急流的暴雨中有重要意義，揭示了梅雨暴雨的一種新的高低空急流耦合機制：低空急流左前方慣性穩定度大值區的存在，有利於低層濕熱能量的積累，使低層傾斜對流的不穩定發展更多期望于條件性對稱不穩定或對流不穩定；高空偏北大風軸（西風急流）的存在，是其右後方（右側）出現對稱不穩定的有利條件，高空相對容易出現干對稱不穩定；慣性穩定性的作用，使低層的傾斜對流更偏向於垂直方向，有利於對流發展，使高層的傾斜對流更偏向於水平方向，有利於高層輻散。
